The Department of Development Services will be transitioning to a new permitting software, OpenGov. We expect this will be more user-friendly to all contractors, applicants, and agents. The following are key dates and deadlines for you to be aware of:
- Saturday, January 1, 2022 – Monday, January 10, 2022
No electronic payments (Credit Card or ECheck) will be accepted via the CitizenServe Portal. We appreciate your patience in this transition and are working quickly to make electronic forms of payment available to you as soon as possible. During this timeframe payments can be made by Cash or Check at Town Hall, Department of Development Services.
No new permit applications will be accepted in the CitizenServe portal after 4:30 PM. All open and active permits will still be accessible in the CitizenServe portal at www.citizenserve.com/brownsburg.
New permit applications must be submitted via the OpenGov portal at https://brownsburgin.viewpointcloud.com starting at 7:30 AM. Electronic forms of payment (Credit Card and ECheck) will be available in the OpenGov Portal.
Until you receive notification, permits submitted before January 7th will continue to be accessed through the CitizenServe Portal. After the data migration is validated, CitizenServe will no longer be accessible.
To access permit information and schedule inspections, you will need to register and create a new account on OpenGov starting on January 10. For active accounts or permits, you may receive an email to claim your active permits to your OpenGov account. If you do not receive an email with claim codes, email email@example.com with your permit numbers and a Building Services team member will email you your codes.
If you already have an OpenGov account for another municipality, you do not need to create a new account to access the portal.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Department of Development Services- Building Division at 317-852-1128 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
