On December 8, 2021 Kroger opened its first Indiana store since 2017. The 102,000 sq. ft. grocery store offers more space, fresh popcorn, an artisanal and specialty cheese section, a Starbucks, and a drive-thru pharmacy.

"We are so excited to welcome this new, beautiful Kroger store to Brownsburg," said Town Council President Travis Tschaenn. "We want to thank Kroger for investing in Brownsburg and offering a very nice shopping experience for our residents."
Indiana State Senator John Crane, Brownsburg Town Council Member Matt Simpson, Brownsburg Town Council President Travis Tschaenn, Interim Co-Town Manager Deb Cook, and Clerk-Treasurer Ann Hathaway attended the grand opening celebration. The $25 million store is located at 975 N. Green St., the location of the former Kmart property.
