On June 11, 2015, the Town Council passed Ordinance 2015-13 amending Section 52 of the municipal code to clarify and continue the Town's long-standing policy of allowing sewer bill credits in certain situations. This section of the code now reads as follows:
For customers that obtain water service from the Town, the Utility Billing Office may apply a one-time sewer credit each year to account for quantities of water that may have been consumed, but may not have entered into the sewage system. Customers must submit to the Utility Billing Office the proper application requesting the one-time credit by December 1 of each year. The credit will be based on the difference between the average monthly use subtracted from the requested usage month. The Utility Billing Office will maintain a policy that details the credit process and the time period that generates the average monthly use for both established and newer customers. The Utility Billing Office may also make allowances in unique situations, such as but not limited to water leaks and their subsequent documented repair.
Utility customers on Town water and sewer may apply for the one-time creditbefore December 1, of each year by submitting the online form or a hard copy form at the Utility Billing Office customer service counter. For questions about the credit, please contact the Utility Billing Office at 317-852-1102.
