Curbside Recycling

Curbside recycling is available through Ray's Trash Service and Republic Services.

The Town holds a free electronics recycling event each year. Called One-Stop Drop Offs, these events are open to residents and local businesses. Since holding its first town-wide recycling event in 2010, the Town of Brownsburg has helped divert more than 100 tons of waste - appliances and electronics - that might otherwise go to Indiana landfills. Thanks to our residents, we've been able to reduce the leaching of toxic chemicals from entering the waterways.

Hendricks County Solid Waste Management District offers several ways to recycle:

  • Recycling Drop-off Centers: There are three 24-hour centers in Lizton, Coatesville, Stilesville and North Salem. These centers collect paper, glass, steel, aluminum and plastics.
  • Tox-Away Days: For Hendricks County residents; businesses are prohibited from participating. Some fees are required for appliances, electronics and tires. Dates and locations vary throughout the year.
  • Yard Waste Recycling Centers: These centers are located in Brownsburg and Plainfield and open from April-November. The centers are open from April through November. Materials at these sites will become mulch and/or compost to be utilized again instead of becoming just another load of trash. Pricing varies based on types of yard waste.

Yard Waste

The Street Department offers free yard waste pick up throughout the year. The Street Department's wood chipper circulates through the town Monday through Thursday each week during the spring, summer, and early fall. During the late fall season, the department picks up paper recyclable bags full of leaves. After the Christmas and New Year's holidays, they will pick up and chip Christmas trees for a short time.
